Swedish Massage
Swedish Massage is the most common and best known type of massage. It involves long, fluid strokes of muscles and tissues with pressure that varies in intensity. This type of massage is considered to be one of the most relaxing styles. Pressure is adjusted according to client's level of sensitivity and need.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue Massage focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronic aches and pains as well as contracted areas such as a stiff neck and upper back, lower back pain, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders. The massage is typically focused on a particular muscle group. Deep tissue techniques resemble those used in Swedish Massage, but with movements that are slower, with more pressure applied to areas of tension and pain to reach the deeper layer of muscles as well as the the connective tissue surrounding the muscles (fascia).
Sports Massage
Sports Massage helps to support an athlete's range of motion, flexibility, and strength. The specific techniques are adapted based on each person's goals - and where s/he is in training. For example, a Sports Massage can be tailored to support an athlete before or after a major event, during a recovery or maintenance period, or if s/he suffers an injury that requires rehabilitation.
Pre-Natal Massage
Pre-natal massage is a nurturing massage that focuses on the special needs of the mother-to-be during pregnancy. With careful attention to positioning and technique, pre-natal massage ensures clients' comfort and safety while addressing common pregnancy-related circulatory and muscular issues.
